The Tanque Verde Valley is nestled in Northeast Tucson where the Santa Catalina Mountains to the North and Rincon Mountain to the East meet. Separated by the high mountain pass of Redington Pass, which historically connected the farming areas of Redington along the San Pedro River on the east side and Tucson to the west side.  The road through the pass is unpaved and is a favorite of mountain bikers and all-terrain vehicle riders.

Catalina Highway connects the Tanque Verde Valley to Mount Lemmon 25 miles north of town. The highest peak is 9,157 feet above sea level. The home of Ski Valley for winter skiing receives about 180 inches of snow a year and only minutes from Tucson. Several campgrounds and lakes are located along the scenic road up the mountain.

Tanque Verde Falls are a half day hike to pools and waterfalls in Tanque Verde Canyon. The short hike allows visits to pools and waterfalls along the Tanque Verde Creek and affords beautiful views overlooking the Tanque Verde Valley.

Tanque Verde Guest Ranch is an authentic dude ranch with vacations at the 640 acre property adjacent to the Saguaro National Park and the Coronado National Forest. Founded in 1868 and offers horseback riding, tennis, guided hiking, mountain biking, nature walks and more.

Nestled in the Santa Catalina Mountain foothills is Arizona National Golf Course which is the home course for the University of Arizona men’s and women’s golf team. A diverse 6,785 yard course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. was ranked 15th best in the state in 2008 by Golf Week.
